Joe, the moon is tidally locked to earth, and it is insignificant in mass, compared to any star. Seth is very correct in pointing-out that time can eventually lock any orbiting body into keeping the same face toward the primary member of the system. On 5/23/07, Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote:
Since the star is only 1 percent as luminous as the sun does that mean it's less massive? And if it is does that mean that planet would not necessarily be tidally locked to the star?
