Hey Chuck I guess it can be called a 'gobee' in Utah. Yes keep the system light and NOT attached to the scope, a spare tripod would do well you'll just have to rig a fitting for the gobee attachment point. Getting a piece of black/white matt board was easier than painting up a panel plus it's way lighter than wood or some other scrap. Even a small car sun shield that folds up would be good. Solar viewing here in Hawaii is killer, I get hot fast so I always try to position the scope where it has some sort of shade overhang if possible. At the summit it's mostly cool but the intense UV bakes you good! Have fun Rob
