Hi all, I have a friend I teach with and he is a amateur astronomer also, Some of you might have got to see is very old telescope last summer at Wheeler Farm. All brass from the 1930's. Last Night around 8pm he calls me up and said he was looking at something in the night sky. It was glowing like the end of a cigarette. It was up by the moon and heading west. He garbed is Bino's and got a good look at it. Then called me. I never saw it at all. He said it was moving about as fast as the shuttle does across the sky. This is about the same time that the meteor came down in Russia. We are thinking he was looking at the Meteor as it was just entering the atmosphere on its way to the ground. Did anyone else see something simular? Is this possible to see it here and then it goes to ground in Russia? According to this, the fragments of the fireball fell into a reservoir...I wonder if any hit elsewhere and might be found. ~Kelly
