Well of course that's different. SLAS members obligated to be at SPOC should certainly go there, but lets not try and sell an obviously inferior site (for this particular event only) by arbitrarily discounting half of the entire event. List members are not all SLAS members. As it turns out, my own yard will actually show, within a few minutes, what can be observed from Little Mountain, I may just set up in my driveway anyway. For what it's worth, SLAS has a commitment to be at SPOC inasmuch as we have scheduled a public star party there for the eclipse. Of course no one is obligated, but if any of you have no preference, then please consider coming to SPOC to help support this public event.
