I agree, but in this case they were SO intertwined, and science and education of our kids was taking the back seat. The ID folks were driving decisons that were not science based. Hard to blame the logical, science types from wanting to clarify bad science and the impact it will have on our kids' education. People needed to know this political piece so they could take some actions and not keep their head in the sand until it was too late. This is how things get railroaded through and no one knows until its too late - a hallmark of the current leadership - both national and local. Blind sheep OR thinking people? I know what gets my vote. I have no objections to other science related topics, even the ID vs. evolution debate. However, I'd suggest we draw the line a politics, more and more people are adding political comments along with their science related comments, let's set up a separate board for that. That way if people want to subject themselves to political arguments they can do so willingly and knowingly. Mixing science, religion, and politics is a bit much. Let's at least endeavor to keep this an astronomy/science board.
