Found a reference in _A Collector's Guide to Rock, Mineral, & Fossil Loacalities of Utah_, J.R. Wilson, Utah Geological Survery Miscellaneous Publication 95-4, pg 120 describing horn coral in the Lakeside Mountains north of Delle. "Description: Limestones at the south end of the Lakeside Mountains contain horn coral up to 4 inches or more... Directions: Take the Delle exit west of Grantsville and follow the frontage road west approximately 3 miles where it turns NE. Continue straight after crossing the railroad tracks and proceed into the mountain area. Park and hike up the slopes to look for the horn corals." Which in no way means there isn't horn coral where you've described. Brent Watson wrote:
Lakeside is an old railroad town and sits right next to the rail that goes across the causeway in the Great Salt Lake. The quarry for the fill is next to the town, just west and a bit south. The distance between them is less than 1/2 mile. There are also rail lines going into the quarry, since they still occasionally get fill there for maintaining the causeway. This sounds like what your co-worker is talking about.

My co-worker told me that the railroad ran right next to, or through the area. He mentioned also a large quarry (Brent, is this the same one you mentioned?) that had fossils about.
Thanks

I've heard of a site north of Delle (one exit east of the Lakeside/Eagle Range exit). Go north from the exit and you'll see a shallow wash/canyon on the south side of the Lakeside Mountains. Follow the road up the canyon. The site is on the west side I believe. Sorry I can't be more specific.
