I hear you Joe about the weather. Just keep in mind it will only be another 60 days or so and we will be to busy sandbagging State Street to remember how cloudy it has been.

I'm really, really, really tired of the crappy weather! Thanks for the report, Steve. -- Joe

Glad you and others had great time and were able to share with the public. Now Steve, the summer observing season hasn't begun because the summer solstice hasn't occurred ushering in the season of summer. More importantly, I only saw a bunch of white stuff here in Herriman today making me wonder if spring is really here. I'm tired of the moisture and it can shut off now for awhile.
Speaking of outreach, I've been at it at my school and a couple of others with the ASOP/NASA kits and guess I need to report those.
Seriously though, I am glad there was a sucker hole and everyone was there to participate and share with the public. Nice report Steve.

Hey, Utah Astronomers. Just wanted to share
with you that the first public
event at Stansbury Park for the Salt Lake Astronomical Society is now "in the bag". A great night was had by all who attended. After snow all day, Patrick called me about 7:15 and informed me there was a huge sucker hole over the observatory and he had received some phone calls from the public. I jumped in the car and headed West. In attendance were Patrick Wiggins, Dale Wilson, Bruce Grim and myself. When I arrived the refractor dome was open and the observing had begun. A small family had attended before I got there and in the next hour one young lady from a local high school showed up to view the moon. I took one quick peek and the moon was beautiful. That is it! That is my observing report for the night and I assure you like I said, " A great night was had by all who attended". The summer observing season has begun. Steve
