I was listening to the broadcast earlier. They weren't expecting any images until about 4:00 ET (I think). The Hygens was on the ground and still transmitting the carrier even after Cassini was transmitting to us. They were even trying to arrange for other radio telescopes to pick up the signal so that they could learn from dopler shift, etc. They were speaking multiple languages so I didn't understand a lot of what they were saying.
