I haven't had a chance until now to tell anyone about our earthquake last night. As reported on KSL TV the epicenter was 18 miles east of Panguitch, putting it a few miles north of Tropic. At only M4.8 it was almost a yawner, but I did experience something that I've not experienced with earthquakes before - this time I heard the quake coming. It does indeed sound a bit like a freight train, but for me maybe more like a loud rush of wind. I heard it about five seconds before it began to rattle the house and also heard it throughout the shaking. Fortunately it was not large enough to hurt anyone or damage anything, at least not that I've heard of.
