DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER if you don't want to have anything Harry Potter related spoiled. You present a strong case for Snape being half vampire. After reading your emails, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you're right. You certainly seem to pick up on and remember a lot of detail. Hopefully, book 7 will come out sooner than book 6 did after 5. by the time book 6 came out, I was lucky to remember who died in book 5. I never considered the possibility that Snape and Dumbledore had some agreement for Snape to kill Dumbledore, but I did wonder if Dumbledore didn't somehow fake his death to make Voldemort and everyone think he was truly and sincerely dead as opposed to only merely dead. Dumbledore is too central of a character, and if he's truly and sincerely dead, it seems the remainder of the story will be diminished. John and Lisa Zeigler wrote:

Sorry, I know this is totally off topic for this board! But I love these books, and like to discuss theories.
Snape has to be a vampire. In every single book JKR has written something about Snape that compares him to a bat.
Book one page 288: So useful to have him swooping around like an over-grown bat.
Book Two page 193: Snape, gliding over like a large malevolent bet.
Book Three is hilarious! Snape assigns the DADA class an assignment on Werewolves on page 171, because he knows Lupin is a werewolf. Lupin later assigns the class to do an assignment on Vampires, but you do not hear about it until page 289. Snape is determined to get Harry into trouble after he nearly catches Harry having been in Hogsmead when he is not supposed to be. Lupin is trying to get Harry out of trouble, and I think trying to save the Marauders map from being discovered (but that's a whole other subject). Lupin starts talking to Harry about the vampire essay and it shuts Snape right up. Also in book three, the whole thing about James saving Snape's life when Sirius sent Snape into the shrieking shack while Lupin was transformed. Why would Snape die from a werewolf bite? Wouldn't he just become a werewolf? Is it because he is half Vampire and if a Vampire gets bitten by a werewolf they die.
I could give you further references, but I think these suffice. Not that its terribly important. I don't know that it matters if Snape is half vampire or not. There are many things like this she has hidden throughout the book though. I have a lot of theories that I hope she will follow through on.
I do believe that Snape and Dumbledore had an agreement that Snape was to kill Dumbledore though. Yes, I believe Snape was supposed to kill Dumbledore, with Dumbledore's permission. If you want proof, I can give it to you.
I also think I know who the author of the letter in the locket Horcrux is, the R.A.B. on page 609.
