Ah yes. I see it now. And, you could contact the seller and ask to take a look at it in the evening. Look at some stars with it. Actually give it a run for its money and see if it's worth it. ++++++++++++++++++ Troy Davidson, KF7MTE www.istroyworking.com On Wed, Jun 1, 2011 at 3:17 PM, Kim Hyatt <kimharch@cut.net> wrote:
I thought that too, but if you look carefully you'll see that there is a reflection of a distant building and tree, not something on the mirror. (It helps to zoom in and flip the image 180 degrees.)

Also, looking at the pics in the ad, it looks like the primary mirror has something on it; something like mold. I bet it could be cleaned off.

Only if the optics are good. Some were made during the Halley's Comet era with bad optics. The best optics I have seen are in the newer scopes after around 1998. Even so , you can still get a lemon.

I wonder what "one leg has a crack on the mount" means. I suspect it means the fork is cracked.

I would bet the guy would deal. He just keeps relisting it and dropping the price.
I don't need another scope, but I keep thinking it could probably be had for less than the listing.
