Hi, Continuing on with the story of the problems that cattle ranchers have with wolves. My family's summer cattle range is in the middle of Island Park Idaho. South and a little bit west of Yellowstone Park. They have about 100,000 Acres of land for the summer range. This has been in the family for generations. And they have had there run in with tree huggers and environmental activists wich is a hole other issue. To make a long story short. My family does loose cattle to wolves, but the bigest problem is Bears. The bears kill the cattle and then drag off the beef so you can not find it. The beef then gets buried by the bear for latter consumption. So to get reimbursed....... for your loss you have to produce a cattle carcass. Which is impossible from a bear kill................... because you never see it again. My family does loose some cattle every year. I do go into the mountains and dessert all summer and have had some problems with rabbit hunters. Nothing a 10 million candle spot light will not solve. You can light them up from a long way off and most of the time they head the other way. Of course your Night Vision is worthless for quite a while after that.
