I took out the 6" Saturday night to peek at Saturn...Maximum magnification possible was between 280-300x. The crepe ring was obvious, but the seeing wouldn't support more aperture at my location (Jupiter was a mess, down low as it was) by the time I turned-in at about ten. Couldn't detect either the Enke gap or minima, just not enough aperture. I'll try the 10" next weekend, weather permitting. Did anyone with a big scope detect the gap or minima this weekend? Of course I had to peek at M42. I'm always amazed how this object can pucnch-through light pollution and moonlight. Chuck __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
