I have both a glass and Baader, yet to use the Baader. The Glass filter I have is decades old, to me the glass seems less fragile than films. I went with Baader mostly because of current availability in the size I needed otherwise I would have gone with glass.

I'm buying this for an 8" Orion SkyQuest. I'm most interested in using it for pictures of the upcoming eclipse and transit. Can anyone weigh the pros and cons of glass vs film for this purpose? the $50 difference in the full aperture vs off-axis doesn't make much difference to me.
Glass vs. Baader film boils down to personal preference.
Most glass filters give the sun a colored tint. Baader film gives it a neutral, white image. Resolution is similar with both.
The tint issue aside, I prefer Baader because if you break it or scratch it, it's a whole heckava lot cheaper to replace. _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy
