Looks convincing to me, I've seen a very bright daylight bolide that dived straight-down from my point of view. It broke up and the fireball was at least half a degree wide and bright green. The fireball continued all the way down until it disappeared behind the Oquirrh mountains behind Kennecott. I was in traffic in Sugarhouse, on 21st south & 13th east, facing west at the time. About 25, 26 years ago. As bright as the sun for a couple of seconds. Surprised that it didn't make the media. I called the planetarium but nobody seemed interested in trying to get other sightings for a possible triangulation of a strewn field.
