Kurt, I couldn't tell what was a nova and what was a regular star. . . . If I sent it [my photo] to you, could you take a look? thanks, Joe
I had problems matching up the AAVSO 1° detail chart at - http://www.aavso.org/cgi-bin/shrinkwrap.pl?path=/charts/SGR/NSGR05_2/NSGR05_... with a direct view star field. I prepared a 2° wide finder chart for star hopping from del Sgr - http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/finder/Nsgr052.gif Most of the stars plotted on the AAVSO 1° detail chart are plotted on this wide-field chart inorder to orient the AAVSO detail chart to the eyepiece. HD or Tycho numbers are listed. One star, HD167616 (v9.6), is on the 2° degree finder chart but is not plotted on the AAVSO detailed finder chart. Joe, please go ahead and send me your photo at my 1 megabyte attachment size limited email account at: fisherka@csolutions.net Please send the jpg, but if you also have the time, it's not too much trouble and your SBIG camera software has a "save to FITS" option, also send a FITS file. I'll see if I can line it up and plot a chart field over image. I'll also need either the center point and the rotation of the photo (either north or west) or the id on two stars in the FOV. - Enjoy - Canopus56(Kurt) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
