Tyler, I am still thinking hard on the G11. This test last night was one piece of the puzzle. This Utah Astronomy email group does not allow links. It has to be done via cut and paste. I did talk to Starizona regarding using the Hyperstar on the C11. It takes it to a F2. They now make a Hyperstar that will take a DSLR on the C11. I was so excited to watch the images through my guide scope and the 300mm lens. At times there were 100 stars in the field of view available for guiding. So many toys to consider like a CCD. On the image it took I did not do any PEC training or playback. I used very rigid dithering parameters . It was nice. It was also cold. Cut and paste this; http://home.comcast.net/~galico/AndromedaFinal.jpg Stay in touch. It sounds like the new rig is working well and with the lighter load the CG5 will probably do really well, especially if you take the time to balance carefully. I couldn't view the image because the link is broken. Send me a new link and I will take a look. Cheers, Tyler PS - Dang! I was really hoping to find a local buyer. If you know anyone else who is in the market locally, let them know about my mount. Thx. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of gazebo4sale@comcast.net Sent: Monday, October 08, 2012 5:18 PM To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Utah-astronomy] First Image with my little CG5. Hi, I purchased a little CG5, mounted my Takahashi FC76 and bolted on a 300mm Nikon Camera Lens with a 1.25 inch lens piece adapter for my lodestar. With cameras and mounting plates the Load on the mount is 17 lbs. The 300mm lens is really nice for a guide scope. I shot this picture of M31 last night. First picture ever with this grab and go. It tracked well until it got past the meridian. Hi, I purchased a little CG5, mounted my Takahashi FC7 and bolted on a 300mm Nikon Camera Lens with a 1.25 inch lens piece adapter for my lodestar.
