9:10 was when they first started to touch. It took about 10 minutes to completely disappear. Which would have looked cool in a scope except job and clouds prevent it.

Looking at it just now, disappearance may happen for SLC while the sun is still below the horizon, it's getting close. Maybe about an hour as this message is sent. Go get your binoculars. On Mon, Dec 7, 2015 at 5:38 AM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:
Just a reminder that the moon will occult Venus this morning. The sun will be above the horizon, but Venus will be clearly seen next to the lunar crescent in even the slightest optical aid, such as binoculars. See if you can spot it disappearing behind the bright lunar limb, and suddenly re-appearing from the dark opposite limb sometime later. It will seemingly appear out of nowhere in a telescope since the dark portion of the moon will be indistinguishable from blue sky.

If someone wants to use their planetarium program to calculate the times of disappearance and reappearance for Salt Lake, feel free to post them. I'm at work at the moment and can't get to it.
Good luck!

It was looking good up until about an hour before the occultation. I hate being teased like that.
