Rob has it correct! I have to admit over the years we have become "Halloweenies". I'm thinking it may be the dogs. We have two Shih Tzu's and they don't act like small yappy dogs unless someone comes to the door. Enough said! Steve

And if the "Griswalds" spend thousand on astronomy equipment and had kids, parents, etc. all lining up and screaming for joy to see the skies, that would be fine. Joy, passion and fun are good wherever you find it in life. (Ann, aka the Halloween Queen).

Count your blessings!!!!! The neighbors across the street (we call them the Griswalds) go all out at Halloween. Spook alley in the back yard, thousands of dollars spent on decorations, and they give out great candy. Over the years this has brought thousands of screaming kids, their teenage brothers and sisters and parents racing up and down the street till at least 11:00 P.M. We hate Halloween. Steve

We're down to under 20 kids. In fact, we'll be lucky to get 10 - 12.

I've been doing this for years at my niece's house, they are famous (or imfamous) in more than the local neighborhoods. Hundreds of kids come by.

Because of the weather last year, I wasn't able to set up my 10 inch dob and show kids the moon and/or Jupiter. This year the weather looks good so it is time for a little neighborhood outreach and come views of the waxing crescent moon on the terminator and Jupiter if it is up high enough. Anyone else going to do this? Besides the 10 inch dob I'll have a late 1960's Tasco Spotting Scope that zooms that is an excellent lunar observing scope. Anyway, just curious.
