Yesterday I went to the "crater" site to get an exact location. Chris, my son, went with me. We landed on the road and walked to the site. It looks like these holes in the ground are actually sink holes. Why they are concentrated in this one location that is maybe 1/4 mile in diameter I don't know. Perhaps a geologist can shed some light on why only here. Here are a couple of images from our little jaunt. http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n534/brentjwatson/DSC06114small.jpg View on i1138.photobucket.com Preview by Yahoo http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n534/brentjwatson/DSC06119small.jpg View on i1138.photobucket.com Preview by Yahoo http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n534/brentjwatson/DSC06113small.jpg View on i1138.photobucket.com Preview by Yahoo If nothing else, it was a lot of fun to go visit these "craters". I had a great time and so did Chris. Besides, it was a great excuse to get the airplane out of the hangar and convert some 100LL aviation fuel into fun.
