The percep tion of 1,000 years equal a day is not just an LDS point of view. For those on this board who rummaged around the flatearthsociety on-line library, that is part of their philosophy as well. Yet the point that it is an allegory and not a fact remain. Perhaps I did not make the point I was trying to make clear enough. I was not intending to critcize Fundamentalists or Christian sects, I was trying to use their perceptions of time (of which I am more familiar) to point out the limitations of thought that restrict their perceptions to a young earth. As we are all in the USA, we are all more familiar with Christian beliefs which argue for the young earth. The idea the earth is old is blaphemous to them. I don't see why i t has to be either/or. Hopefully we are back on track :) I might add, Science doesn't tell us anything that God doesn't already know.
