There is just miles and miles of the ground around the sun tunnels--top of picture #1 shows the scrub which is typical. We saw no birds, 1 very small lizard, and the Mayor of Lucin (one sheep, Merino?) who was fenced in at the ponds of Lucin. I should say pond, as the others were dry and while there was still flowing water to the main pond, it was very little. Did see some cattle when we got closer to Wendover, but no antelope, deer, or even a coyote. Main problem is water and feed, as the grass is just burnt to a straw color. This is the reason cattle ranchers have to move their herds to higher mountain range, a practice many decry. I guess the propeller guy living in his hanger must be a throwback to the old mountain men. Be a great place for an observatory, tho. Or rombics, for those of us who know that word. 73, lh
