I have been showing the transit to some co-workers today. One of them, a Mexican immigrant from a remote Oaxaccan village, absolutely refused to believe me when I told him that the sun was just the same thing as the stars in the night sky, only much, much closer! He was amazed that the little spot that is Mercury is "a little larger than the Moon", diminished by distance. That also gave him a mental image of the vast size of the sun. It was fun to see his eyes widen in astonishment. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Sponsored Link Talk more and pay less.
