Thanks for the kind comments guys. Actually, when I aligned and stacked the 50 images, the stars came up more round than the individual images. I was quite surprised that the stars didn't look elongated like in the one 30 sec frame I posted. I'm leaving the single 30 sec image up so you can campare the two images. I'm going to try doing some drift alignment in the next few months and spend some quality time with polar alignment. When I'm done done observing with my 15", I'll work on polar alignment and focusing. I'm still waiting on my Losmandy encoders but I should have them in about 4 weeks. I have a polar alignment routine on my JMI-Max I want to try out. It will be interesting to see how much the routine improves the polar alignment. Hopefully the weather will be drier this winter. Nicely done Deb! Looks like you got your tracking problems resolved...

Hi,
I took over 50 30sec exposures at ISO 800 of the Double Cluster Monday night. I had a few problems that night. I forgot to switch from JPEG to RAW mode after I got the cluster centered on the chip. The laptop computer eventually ran out of battery power and died. But I'm still pleased with the result.
