BTW, it does give a chronology. http://www.aip.org/history/climate/floods.htm Perhaps it has something to do with what the Norwegians noticed in 1922. They are kind of close to Iceland. "They even have their own word, jökulhlaup (from Icelandic), to describe the spectacular outbursts when water builds up behind a glacier and then breaks loose. An example was the 1922 jökulhlaup in Iceland. Some seven cubic kilometers of water, melted by a volcano under a glacier, had rushed out in a few days." Erik
