Hi friends, I'm wondering if anyone would like to see one of my photos of Columbia, which I took when a group of us went to southern Utah to see what turned out to be the final fly-over. At one of the SLAS meetings I showed views I shot through an extreme telephoto, using a very high-resolution CCD camera I had borrowed from the Deseret News. As you might remember, the photos were twisty and weird because I coudln't hold the camera steady as it glided overhead. I could see it clearly in the viewfinder, however. You couldn't see much of the photos. But I have always believed that the final end of the streak, where the shuttle was at the time the shutter closed and ended the exposure, should somehow retain an image that is worthwhile. Today I ran across one of my photos and tried some adjustments, with the result that I'd like to show anyone who is interested. Drop me a line if you want a picture, then let me know what you think. It may just be a coincidence, but I think it does show the shuttle as it flew over enveloped in the heated plasma you'd expect with a reentry. Best wishes, Joe
