Hi Rich, No, climate modeling is an appropriate science even though it is still in it's infancy and the dynamics being studied are quite fluid. Conservancy is definitely of value when trend lines determine that course of action. The "shove this" comment was just a brutish way of indicating that climate history is the most valid interpretation of what "climate" did and what it will do. Climate modeling tries to determine what dynamics are involved in any trends that the climate goes through. My research, ( I have a computer;) indicates that this is extremely complicated, highly speculative, and the data incomplete. As I indicated, if you want to know "what" climate is doing look at history, if you want to know "why" it does it....well... I suppose the "disdain" you mentioned has to do with the scandals and LIES the current administration finds itself buried in. They need a diversion so they trot out the tried and true scare the hell out em global warm.. er ..climate change report. I am sick of Americans being manipulated like this and that was on my mind when I posted that to U-A. Sorry to bring in the politics but it completes the sequence. I love Astronomy. Ron

"shove this" makes it sound like you have disdain for climate modelers. ?A history of severe droughts only amplifies the need for conservancy, IMO.

This is best photo I could get of Mars last night. Fought clouds and wind. Tomorrow night is supposed to be better and I hope to get a better shot. I have a lot to learn about planetary imaging. I?m beginning to think this life-long learning gig isn?t all it?s cracked up to be.
