Thinking back to stuff I heard about from Jerry and Tyler I was able to use a histogram to clean up the first versions. Still not perfect but I think they look quite a bit better now. Plus I was able to post slightly larger versions. In addition to the 5 second exposure sequences posted before I also added a couple of sequences using 1 second exposures. I think I like them better because there much less trailing. As before all sequences are at the bottom of: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=68&g2_page=7 And for my fellow Mac users out there, I came across a nice bit of freeware that made assembling the individual frames into animated GIFs a snap. It's called GIFfun. Easy to install and operate and, to quote the late Mr. Jobs, "It just works." :) Find it on this page: http://www.stone.com/Download.html patrick On 09 Nov 2011, at 01:24, Patrick Wiggins wrote:

Hopefully better versions will replace these if I can develop a better technique (I'm happy to supply the original FITs to anyone wanting to give it a try).
