Oops, bad grammar -- where's the copy desk when I need it? I meant it could enrage anyone who doesn't think such events should be discussed here ... I don't know what it is. Maybe's it's insect-size aliens, like those in the Hitchhikers Guide who were gobbled up by a dog! ________________________________ From: Michael Wells <eyeonyouproductions@gmail.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, November 16, 2012 2:31 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] OT -- UFOs I think the 'expert' said it that way on purpose, just to say that so far nobody had identified it, and it was flying. I'll be interested to see what it turns out to be if it's ever figured out. People on the website are claiming that it's an insect up close t the camera, but things that close to a camera lens aren't in the relative focus that object is, unless it's a macro lens, and then the rest of the background wouldn't be so in focus. You're right, they may just be aliens who didn't take that left tuen at Albuquerque... On Fri, Nov 16, 2012 at 2:22 PM, Daniel Holmes <danielh@holmesonics.com>wrote:
I'm outraged. Outraged that it chose that camera to fly by in Denver, and not one the History channel was using, so I could see a full hour on it. We'd have good investigative reporting then. :-)
It's unfortunate the 'expert' used the term 'it fits the definition of a UFO', since all that means is it's something they can't identify...not that it's extraterrestrial. Besides, if it was alien, we all know it'd pick a trailer park in Arkansas to land in. Not a field in Denver that overlooks a construction site.

Risking the possibility that this may enrage anyone who doesn't think such nonscientific events as unknown objects should not be discussed by amateur astronomers, I want to bring attention to an interesting clip about something or other over Denver. -- Joe
