Hey! Don't try to turn me away from pretty pictures! Really, it's a great accomplishment, Patrick. -- Joe ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 7, 2013 9:56 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] GRB Hi Kelly, Thanks to you and all who have commented. I fear my head size is even bigger than usual (and that's saying a lot!). Yeah, this is turning into something of a bigger deal than I thought at first. I've been receiving the notices for years and have tried to image many, many suspects so I was happy just to have finally caught one in the act. But now I'm reading about it being the brightest and longest lived in history and my satisfaction level just keeps going up. 'Course I would not be me if I did not mention that this was something that could have been done by any number of people on the list. It would be doubly satisfying if this incident got a few others turned towards "taking data". Clear skies, patrick On 07 May 2013, at 06:15, Kelly Ricks wrote:
Hey Patrick,
Just read the Sky & Tel article. Maybe it's not "your" GRB, but that looks like a pretty nice light curve that will likely get a lot of use from astronomers. The list of citations you'll be able to claim might prove to be formidable! Very exciting!
