If you look at the first couple of shots in that set, the frosty-looking patch in the foreground actually appears to be casting a shadow. Quite curious. Michael -- click on Panoramic Camera, Sol 39. Then look at the last two photos (of the six posted). Is that ICE that the rocks are sticking out of? Carbon monoxide snow or ice? A field of odd-looking dust?
