Yeah, I noticed those same two gaffs. When it was repeated on the 10 o'clock KSL Channel 5 news, Bruce Lindsey got the name of the launch vehicle correct, then they rebroadcast the NBC video with all the errors still intact. ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: utah astronomy utah astronomy listserve <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, November 27, 2011 1:45 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Saturn 5 / Hot martian Sun (?!) Sometimes I wonder if some media folks do any fact checking. Last evening I watched an NBC news report on MSL's launch. It started off saying MSL launched on a "Saturn 5". And then went on to talk about how the rover will be operating under a "hot martian Sun". Joe, as a real journalist you need to set them straight. patrick _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php
