OK, since this early AM I must have been visited by three spirits of Halloween. We are going to try something different this year. I'm airing up the tires on the Scopebuggy and will be set up with the 6" by dark. The Clear Sky clock looks more or less OK, the wind conditions are looking like they will improve around dusk. I wish I had a helper to pass out the candy but I can do it and operate the scope all by myself if necessary. The worst that can happen is that my wife (bless her heart) will be trapped in the house with two exceptionally aggravated Shih Tzu's. They will probably be fine unless the two Schnauzers up the street start barking. Since they bark in German I can't tell what they are saying but it sure upsets my two girls. More later. Steve

Ahhh, Steve, a Halloweenie, didn't think it was possible - not you. My niece's house could be your neighbors. They decorate, have a talking pumpkin. It gets hysterical, you have older kids singing "I'm a little teapot ..." just to get candy. Cars bring a load of kids just to this house, then drive off. Its in the Glendale area, so a wide cross-section of nationalities. Jason and Freddie Kruger are there, in person. Jason is my nephew. He is just a mannequin until Halloween night and then he comes alive. Trolling up and down the driveway with his machete in hand.
I go there cause my neighborhood doesn't have a lot of kids either. When I first moved in, I did it one year and got about 20, but for years after I was the "telescope lady."

We need a name for a "Scrooge" at Halloween. Maybe "Halloweenie."

Count your blessings!!!!! The neighbors across the street (we call them the Griswalds) go all out at Halloween. Spook alley in the back yard, thousands of dollars spent on decorations, and they give out great candy. Over the years this has brought thousands of screaming kids, their teenage brothers and sisters and parents racing up and down the street till at least 11:00 P.M. We hate Halloween. Steve
