Slastrofest was great. There was a bit of rain on Friday afternoon before I arrived, and of course it was cloudy all night except for one half hour in which I was able to see all of Scorpius and a bit of Sagittarius, but not long enough to break out a scope. Saturday morning dawned clear and sunny and we had the morning presentations without problem. By a bit after lunch it began to cloud and by 2 pm, when I and my family was forced to leave for an appointment, it began to rain again. The presentations were all great! I learned a lot! I especially liked Jim Gibson's talk on the moon, David Bennett's on navigating the sky, and a presentation done on the sun, but I apologize, I cannot remember that gentleman's name. I wish I could have stayed for the afternoon presentations and the Star-B-Que. Thanks everyone who went for making it so much fun! Hi, We went on a trip, and it appears that the list has died. :) Is everyone really being so quiet? Did anyone post anything about slastrofest? I am curious as to how that worked out.
