I'm leaning toward tires but wonder how stable they'd be if there was much wind. Perhaps we could go with the tires and then do as Bruce does with jacks on the ADA scope. Note, BTW, that we wont be rolling the thing around for a while. Maybe not until spring so there's no need for a quick decision. And, who knows, maybe someone will offer to put up a small observatory to house the thing so we would not have to move it to use it (unlikely as that might be). patrick On 18 Oct 2014, at 01:36, Larry Holmes <larry@kijoda.com> wrote:
I would tend to favor the scope buggy. Looks like the casters could be subject to rust if you put them on the grass. Also I have never heard anything but good about the scope buggy. 73

Now that SLAS has a C-14 it might be a good idea to discuss how to move it around at SPOC.
Looking online I see all manner of devices made for that purpose priced from "not to bad" to "you gotta be kidding".
There's this simple approach: http://www.scoperoller.com/ScopeRoller11.shtml
But there's also these: http://www.scopebuggy.com/Gen3/UntitledPandO.html
Casters would be fine on the SPOC Walk but maybe the larger pneumatic tires might be better if we decide to wheel the scope away from the buildings and on to the lawn.
Thoughts?
