Cool, Shoshana! A dedicated solar binocular? What brand? I've never seen such a thing. Are they for white light, or hydrogen-alpha? I have made many sets of Baader filters for friend's binoculars, they work well and are inexpensive. I use them on my 15x70mm Resolux bino. I just checked, and there is one small sunspot group visible in white light, the same group I saw a few days ago. If I have time, I'll take out the PST again today for some H-a views. H-a is where the real details are seen, such as prominences, flocculi, and a myriad of other features. Have you been to a SLAS Sun Party? Lots of scopes to look through, in both white light and H-a. The next one is this coming Saturday at Winchester Park, 8 AM to 11 AM. Everyone is welcome. Winchester Park is located at 64th South 11th West. Anyone in Sugarhouse have a solar scope? I would love to see! Just ordered solar binoculars, travelling to me as we speak.
