I vote for Eath Shadow. I've seen it plenty of times (from the ground though). --- On Wed, 8/25/10, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote: From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Moon shot To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Wednesday, August 25, 2010, 1:29 AM Thanks Joe. I was just looking at both of them again and noticed a dark band just below the Moon that goes from one side of the image to the other. Is that haze or maybe could it be the shadow of the Earth? Seems like I've seen Earth shadows in pictures taken from mountain tops. ??? patrick On 25 Aug 2010, at 01:21, Joe Bauman wrote:

A friend and I were out over the GSL last evening and I got this shot of the Moon rising over Antelope Island:

A moment later I got this one with the Moon reflecting off the underside of the wing:

Fun reflections but I like the first one better.
And while I've got your attention, anyone able to explain the vertical stripes in this image which my copilot got with her cell phone's camera? I'm guessing the stripes are somehow being caused by the propeller but I can't figure how:
