I had lunch with Mike on Sunday. He's having trouble with the telescope drives, the motors are too small to move the scope's enormous mass, but he is working on a fix. The maker of the drive system seems disinterested in any troubleshooting. He also reports that the scope will not be at Riverside this year, though he himself is planning to attend. With only 4 or 5 days off per month, there just isn't enough time to pull it all together by then. He still does not have a trailer suitable for the big scope.
