I got my foam in 2" x 24" x 72" sheets from Silver State Supplies at 1010 W 2610 S in Salt Lake. I had to shape it with knifes and razor blades. I got the plastic pipe and end pieces from Mountain States Supply, Inc. at 33rd So and about 250 West. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Canopus56" <canopus56@yahoo.com> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2005 5:26 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Local material sources for a hardcase for anAtlasEQ-G mount

You might check a sporting good store that sells hard cases to ship golf clubs in. . . .
That's a good idea - store the tripod and the mount in one hardbox. I was thinking of storing the tripod and mount separately.
You can purchase that foam from a place about 28th South and 5th West. If you want more details, I could scout out the names of the businesses.
I wouldn't make a separate trip. Let me see what I can put together first.
But if you do have a good local supplier for the plug'n'pull foam, I'd be interested in knowing just to have a reliable source.
