I setup filters so anything from any of the lists I belong to go to separate folders. Then I puruse them layer at my leisure. The drawback is sometimes I can be pretty late getting to various topics. The nice thing is I can delete entire threads at a time that I'm not interested in. Anyone who wants to know how to do it, email me off list. It's possible with almost all major email clients. The only drawback for me was often waiting a long time if I was waiting on a response from a specific individual, if list traffic was otherwise slow. And yes, if someone quoted the entire digest in their reply. (Grrrr....)
FWIW, I've noticed a number of folks that have tried the digest version have ended up going back to the regular version and I'm guessing it's how very loooooooong the digests tend to be. For me it's just easier to hit the delete key several times rather than wade though a looooong digest.
Your results my vary. :)
