I missed any crowds by 2 blocks, went to Veterans Park in Cedar City. Found a nice shaded picnic table next to the river and had a pleasant dinner, before 1st contact. Gave away 6 eclipse glasses (not for $10), they did earn some good will though. The only reason I thought the moon seemed to pass off center was all the talk. I would be lying if I said it was clearly off center. I did see some faint baileys beads near 2nd contact. To Mike: I did get the feeling that once I reached Cove Fort I would see the annular if the car broke down.
I think the thing I liked best was no one yelling 1st contact, 2nd Contact, 3rd Contact, etc.
An annular is never waste of time, but I will never understand why someone would have left such a beautiful place, as Bryce, to go to a crowded dusty place, but thats just me. Either you did not pay for the gas or money was no object, maybe just the need for attention. I was surprised in that the sun seemed much higher above the horizon for 2nd and 3rd contact.
BTW, I very nice woman from the tourist office saved some eclipse posters for us until monday morning. We ended up with three, I only need one, so to a good home I would give one away. Perhaps an essay, as to why you would be the best person to receive it.

OK, I baited y'all with that one, maybe meaning to subliminally. It would
certainly have been a waste of time for ME, obviously not for any of you. I'm glad that everyone I've heard from had a chance to enjoy the eclipse, no matter from where they were stuck observing it. (Had to get in one little dig, at least. ;-) If you really loved it, that was the Sweet Spot.
One of our interpretive rangers, Kevin Doxstatter, who is an excellent photographer, created a montage that should be posted on our (Bryce Canyon NP) facebook page. I refuse to ever go to or use facebook, so you'll have to find it on your own. It's worth a look, a really great montage.
