Thanks Joe! I appreciate it. I just wish there were more observations and drawings . . . and next weekend isn't looking too promising but perhaps we'll have a December thaw which has happen (in 2008 it didn't snow until right before Christmas). I wish more people locally blogged about what they did or shared as I find it very interesting to read what others do. I think I forgot to post a link to the blog for those who don't have it so here it is: http://jaysastronomyobservingblog.blogspot.com/ Here's a list of blogs that I follow and I should mention that I also follow several Yahoo Groups as well though I mainly lurk and only read on Yahoo. http://www.alicesastroinfo.com/ http://deepskyobserving.blogspot.com/ Wonderful blog, not so many entries but the last one from August is Tittle *Pole Dancers *and is worthy of a visual amateur astronomer . . . http://uncle-rods.blogspot.com/ One of my favorite by Uncle Rod in the deep south and great information. http://lostpleiadobservatory.blogspot.com/ A good site, he uses a SCT and a Refractor for observing, sketches and has images. http://starbound7331.blogspot.com/ A good site for visual astronomers and telescope makers, he has some good sketches posted. Look over 2009 entries in the summer, he built his own dob back then. http://www.fjastronomy.com/ The blog is on the far right. Faith's blog is very interesting and incorporates her drawings of her observations as well. http://buddybarbee.wordpress.com/ Buddy lives in North Carolina, a place I lived for a couple of years and have a huge affinity for and he is in one of the most beautiful parts of the state. A simple blog of his observations and sketches. That's enough for now. On Sun, Nov 13, 2011 at 12:28 AM, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com>wrote:
Thanks, Jay! I greatly enjoy your blog. It's full of all kinds of useful information and links, besides the main treat of your observations and drawings. -- Joe

I did an update on my blog providing information on Pease 1 which I captured last time I was out and I added an entry showing some of the new sites I gathered up. Not sure they will help anyone but there they are. I'm sure for some of you they are just old spots you use to hit and then for some of us, they are new or newer. I also have a couple of sites I want to try out. There seems to be some good spots south of the Vernon Reservoir up in the mountains that might be closer to get to in the summer. So next spring as conditions improve I'll go and check those out. Keep warm!
