Debbie: All fair Questions. There NO pit toilets at Panorama Point but there are some nearby at Chimney Rock, just a few minutes walk or a very short drive way. The forecasted Temperatures are high's in the mid 80s lows are going to be in the low 50's during the evening, that's about right based on experience. Best to always be prepared to dress for temps 20 degrees below what's forecasted, so bring clothing for 32 degrees and you'll be fine. I'm going to bring my winter coat, I may not wear it but I'll have it with me. A wind breaker is a good idea and dressing in layers always works well as the temps drop steadily during the night. Usually it's pretty decent temps this time of year for viewing. A warm hat is always a good idea to maintain body heat while viewing. I would not anticipate real cold, it will get cool though. Better to over dress than under dress, astronomy never generates much body heat.
