Hi all, Looking for a little expertise and/or advise. Last year my older brother bought a practically new, but 25+ year old 10" Meade SC telescope from an acquaintance. I believe it is an LX3, with tripod, wedge, and quartz clock drive for the RA. Optics are in great shape, and we got drive tracking fairly well, at least for visual use, last fall. He got it out last weekend, and the clock drive appears not to be functioning now - no light, no buzzing, etc. He opened up the drive and there are no visible problems with the motor. He used a meter, and it is getting DC current OK, but is not sure where to go from here. Is there anyone local with some expertise in repairing these old drives? If not, does anyone have experience sending something like this back to Meade for service? Thanks, Richard Curtis
