As usual, a lot of hand wringing and dithering (love that word) without knowing any facts. Would seem to me the first thing to do would have a bored member (thanks Deloy) check with the U and see jut what, if anything, they can do to accommodate us. Seems they have expressed an interest in working with us, ie., the upcoming speaking engagement. Lets first see what they will or will not do for us, before we go off halfcocked. I would see that falling on you, Rodger, as you are currently in discussion with them, and the office you hold. BTW, I have no desire to climb the outside stairs at the UMONH in the Winter months, or pack the equipment back and forth. Speaking of Deloy, what access would he have in the winter months? Maybe Joe could run a bus from the parking lot. Just joshing, Joe. 72 Sent from my iPad

All,
The U of U does sell parking passes for one evening for $2.00 to park in any U A or E lot. It is very easy to purchase these online and you can use a different car each month if you want. I will send info in the next few days so members can be prepared for the next weeks meeting.
Thanks Rodger C. Fry

I wonder if the U could sell us cheapo parking passes that were only good between 6 and 7 on the third Wednesday of every month. If they would, the cost should be minimal.

As has been discussed here before, parking rules at the U of U may effect SLAS meetings.
With free parking now not starting until 8:00 pm, those wishing to to attend SLAS meetings which start at 7:00 may have to pay for parking.
One possible option would be to move the meetings to a new venue. I really don't like that idea but if that does come to pass, where to move to?
Ideally any such meeting hall would be free, located in the Salt Lake Valley, able to handle up to 75 people, have a good sound and video projection system, be available once a month from 7:00 to 9:30 pm and have free nearby parking.
Any ideas?
