Hi guys, I will put in my 2-cents worth on this one. I use Astromart frequently and I love it. The site requires you to sign up, but really doesn't abuse the info in any way that I can see. I have been a user of the site for many years and I have no problems whatsoever with spam from them. I can't imagine a better place to buy and sell used astro equipment. I have bought many used items from the classified ads on the website, including two Takahashi scopes that I love. I don't generally use the auctions, I simply buy from other users for a negotiated price. I, for one, am happy to make a small donation to Herb in exchange for the benefits that his site offers. In addition to the classified ads, the forums on the site are really great. They have been extremely helpful for me, especially for learning about digital astrophotography. I have had many questions answered by the knowledgeable users of the site.... questions that I couldn't get answered anywhere else. I for one would like to send out a big THANK YOU to Herb for hosting such a fine site. I've used Astromart from time-to-time to both buy and sell things. But, I haven't felt that I used it often enough to feel guilty about not paying. What do you think - am I just being too cheap - or has Herb York (who runs Astromart and also owns Anacortes Telescopes and Wild Birds) finally gone too far? I suspect that Herb has finally gone too far, but I'd be interested in hearing from others. Clear skies, Dale. _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://gallery.utahastronomy.com Visit the Wiki: http://www.utahastronomy.com
