Well what is unprecedented in 1922 is suspect is different from 2007. Someone is giving a very subjective evaluation, we have much more objective information today. Todays scientist have a bit more information.
I asked my brother if his Navy buddies had stories about the southern hemisphere oceans. He said they don't go there, "there is nothing there they are interested in". Erik
