James, glad we could be of some small help. My suggestion would be for you to get to know your star-charts. Even if you can't see the target, knowing where it is will get you very, very close. You have to learn some spacial relationships. Then even if the target isn't visible, putting the laser at that spot will get the target into the field of a low-power eyepiece every time.
