I see some evidence of what you are referring to, Brent, but not nearly "a bunch". It's just a loud, disenfranchised minority, from my point of view, that grab headlines and put silly ideas into people's heads. I return to my original premise. For the public to hold science in higher esteem there needs to be more integrity, transparancy, understanding, truth, or all of the above - whatever you want to call it. Right now the public sees a bunch of bad science and lumps all science in the same category.
