Actually, Wally emailed me a note about the mountains. They definitely are real. I think what happened is that he blasted them with light during the exposure so they would show up in the picture. In effect, that foze them in one location. But then as the world moved and his telescope tracked the stars, it left a dark edge where unlit rocks were moving (along with the rest of our world) in relation to the stars. Best wishes, Joe
